The barrel is one of the most important tone-shaping components of the clarinet, second only to the mouthpiece. The Gleichweit Ebonite Barrels – Model K1 were specifically developed for Kronthaler clarinets in the Viennese system. Created through close collaboration between Johannes Gleichweit (Viennese clarinet) and Emir Radišević (Böhm clarinet), these barrels meet the highest standards in tone, intonation, and response.
Extensively tested in concert halls, studios, and rehearsal spaces, these barrels provide stable intonation, a focused sound, and a well-balanced response. The clean, elegant design without metal rings supports the instrument’s natural resonance and emphasizes a warm, open tonal character.
