Description
For the first time in its 200-year history, Buffet Crampon presents a professional German-system clarinet, developed in collaboration with Matthias Schorn, principal clarinettist of the Vienna Philharmonic. The LÉGENDE model brings together Buffet Crampon’s legendary craftsmanship with the velvety-soft tone of the Viennese sound tradition.
Two Systems – One Musical Universe
Drawing on two centuries of expertise in Boehm clarinet making, Buffet Crampon transfers its innovation and precision – together with Matthias Schorn – to the German system, creating a top-tier instrument that meets the highest artistic demands.
The journey begins in Austria – the birthplace of Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto K. 622, the most iconic work ever written for the instrument. It is only fitting that the LÉGENDE reflects the essence of the Viennese clarinet aesthetic.
Sound & Playing Feel
The design emphasises ease of play, freedom of airflow for effortless response, a precise and centred tone and spot-on intonation – allowing clarinettists to express themselves without limitation.
Craftsmanship & Aesthetics
The tenons are reinforced with metal rings for a long-lasting connection between the upper and lower joints. Two intonation rings between the middle and lower joints provide flexibility and tuning stability. The rose gold-plated keywork and a gold medallion give the instrument a truly distinctive, luxurious look.
